CCSSA Congress 2018
Welcome to Durban for the annual National CCSSA Conference, at which SASPEN will again be partnering with us.
Durban was voted the top South African City with the highest quality of life for three consecutive years. It provides the ideal venue for this year’s conference that promises to be fresh and innovative in its approach, with greater delegate participation, sharing of ideas, and of course a large dose of fun. The relationship with SASPEN continues to flourish and will bring an exciting edge to the program. New workshops run before the main conference program, innovative lunchtime events, exciting activities in the exhibition hall and a superb SASPEN social programme will add new elements to this year’s meeting.
“Critical Care – let’s make it personal” is this year’s theme and will focus on the importance of individualised and personalized care in ICU. An exceptional international and local speaker faculty will provide their expertise and enthusiasm in highlighting these subjects, with the objective of changing practice, bringing new ideas to the fore, and improving our individual practice. All this will take place against the backdrop of a large trade exhibition.
We look forward to seeing you in Durban, joining in the workshops, debates, panel discussions, and all the fun events planned for a memorable week in August 2018.
Rob Wise & Dean Gopalan
On behalf of the South African Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (SASPEN), we are pleased to invite you to Durban from 23 - 26 August 2018, as we once again join the Critical Care Society of Southern Africa (CCSSA) at their annual congress. This joint venture will once again offer members of the multiprofessional and multidisciplinary ICU team the opportunity to discuss and learn about the most recent research and developments in the field of critical care medicine and nutrition, as well as to meet up with old colleagues, and to make new friends. Built on last year’s success, SASPEN will also offer delegates the opportunity to improve their nutrition knowledge by attending the European Society for Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN)’s Life Long Learning (LLL) Nutrition Courses in the form a pre-congress workshop. Furthermore, with interdisciplinarity under the spotlight, members of the multidisciplinary team will find a broad range of interdisciplinary sessions in the main scientific programme where the different disciplines can join to explore topics of interest to all.
So come join us in Durban for the CCSSA/SASPEN 2018 Congress! We look forward to sharing this unique event and experiencing the beautiful surrounds of Durban with you!
